Precision: My Word of the Year for 2026
Every year, I choose a word.
Not a resolution. Not a goal list. A filter.
A single word that shapes how I make decisions, where I spend my energy, and—just as importantly—what I don’t do.
For 2026, that word is Precision.
Why Precision—and Why Now
The last few years have been about growth, clarity, and momentum. Building studios. Supporting teams. Scaling systems. Digging deep into performance data and leadership frameworks.
But growth has a funny way of rewarding volume before it rewards accuracy.
More initiatives. More ideas. More meetings. More dashboards. More “this might work.”
Precision is the pivot.
2026 isn’t about doing more. It’s about doing exactly what matters—on purpose.
What Precision Means to Me
Precision is calm, not chaotic. Precision is confident, not loud. Precision is knowing where to apply pressure—and where to stop pushing.
In my work, Precision shows up as:
Fewer priorities, executed exceptionally well
Clear expectations instead of vague encouragement
Metrics that actually drive outcomes (not vanity numbers)
Saying no faster, so the right yeses get my full attention
It’s the difference between being busy and being effective.
Precision in Leadership
Strong leadership doesn’t come from doing everything. It comes from doing the right things consistently.
In 2026, Precision in leadership looks like:
Direct feedback instead of padded conversations
Coaching to the root problem, not the symptom
Systems that prevent fires instead of celebrating fire‑putting‑out
Trusting experience over urgency
The goal isn’t intensity. The goal is sustainability—with results.
Precision in Business & Performance
I spend a lot of time inside studio data—leads, conversions, utilization, churn, revenue mix.
Precision means:
Fixing the bottleneck instead of rearranging the deck chairs
Not rewarding high conversion if volume is broken
Designing growth that fits the model, not the ego
Understanding that more isn’t always better—better is better
Precision respects constraints. And constraints are where smart growth lives.
Precision in Life (Because It Counts Too)
This word isn’t just for work.
Precision shows up in how I protect my energy, how I schedule my time, and how I define success.
Not every opportunity deserves a yes. Not every problem deserves my attention. Not every season requires the same output.
Precision is choosing intentionally—again and again.
Carrying Precision Into 2026
If 2025 was about clarity, 2026 is about acting on that clarity with confidence.
No rush. No noise. No unnecessary complexity.
Just focused effort, applied exactly where it matters most.
That’s Precision.
And I’m all in.
